DENVER (AP) — Andrew Cogliano and Patrick Maroon scored 44 seconds apart in the third period, lifting the Anaheim Ducks to a 5-2 win over the Colorado Avalanche in a split-squad exhibition game Monday night.
Brad Winchester scored twice on Avs goaltender Calvin Pickard, including the tying goal early in the third period.
Cogliano gave Anaheim the lead with a wrist shot. Moments later, Maroon knocked in a loose puck near the crease. Jakob Silfverberg added a late empty-net goal.
Zach Redmond and Alex Tanguay had goals for the Avalanche. Tanguay played just 16 games last season due to hip and knee injuries.
Jason LaBarbera played the first two periods in goal for Anaheim, before giving way to Igor Bobkov.
The other half of the rosters for both squads played Monday in Anaheim.
