POLLOCK PINES, Calif. (AP) — A massive wildfire that's threatening thousands of homes in Northern California is still only 10 percent contained. Fire officials say the fat-moving King Fire has consumed about 126 square miles and has driven 2,800 people from their homes. Meanwhile, a man accused of setting the blaze has pleaded not guilty to arson charges

CANADENSIS, Pa. (AP) — The man who authorities say fatally shot one Pennsylvania state trooper and wounded a second with a high-powered rifle is still on the loose. Law enforcement personnel are combing a heavily wooded region of northeastern Pennsylvania for 31-year-old Eric Frein (freen), the suspect in last week's deadly ambush at a state police barracks.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Secret Service is looking into two breaches of White House security in less than 24 hours. A man was arrested today for trying to unlawfully enter the executive mansion. Last night, a 42-year-old Texas man scaled the fence and got through the North Portico doors before being apprehended. The president and first family are at Camp David this weekend.

DETROIT (AP) — It's another General Motors recall. The automaker is recalling more than 221,000 Cadillac XTS and Chevrolet Impala sedans because the brake pads can stay partially engaged even when they're not needed, increasing the risk of a fire. The recall involves Cadillacs from the 2013-2015 model years and Impalas from the 2014 and 2015 model years.

NEW YORK (AP) — Emmy-winning actress and singer Polly Bergen has died. Her publicist says Bergen died today at her home in Southbury, Connecticut, surrounded by family and close friends. She had battled emphysema and other ailments in the late 1990s, a result of 50 years of smoking. Bergen played the terrorized wife in the original "Cape Fear." She was 84.
