Duquesne hangs on to beat Monmouth, 30-21

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Dillon Buechel threw for 344 yards and two touchdowns to lead Duquesne to a 30-21 win against Monmouth on Saturday.

After Monmouth took a 7-0 lead on a 17-yard touchdown pass from Brandon Hill to Neal Sterling, Duquesne (2-2) ripped off 27 unanswered points highlighted by a 55-yard scoring strike from Buechel to Chris King. King was one of two Duquesne receivers with 100-yard games, catching 10 passes for 124 yards and two TD's. Devin Rahming had 11 catches for 129 yards.

Monmouth (2-1) trimmed its deficit to 27-21 after consecutive second half touchdowns. Brandon Hill connected with Hakeem Valles near the end of the 3rd quarter and Lavon Chaney had a 6-yard rushing TD to start the 4th.

Duquesne's Austin Crimmins kicked a 24-yard field goal with 2:59 left to seal the game.

Hill threw for 258 yards and two touchdowns to lead Monmouth, who was outgained 447 to 296.
