ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — Michigan has hired Sam Coad as assistant strength and conditioning coach.

The team announced the move Friday. Coad comes to Ann Arbor from Brisbane, Australia, where he was a strength and conditioning coach and sport scientist with the Brisbane Lions, an Australian Rules Football team.

Michigan says Coad will be responsible for enhancing athlete readiness, performance and recovery as part of a comprehensive sports performance program. He will also collect and interpret data obtained from football players during workouts, practices and games to provide training recommendations.
