LOS ALAMITOS, Calif. (AP) — Global Hottie returned from a 10-month break to win the $46,750 feature for California-bred fillies and mares by 3 1/2 lengths at Los Alamitos on Thursday.
Ridden by Martin Garcia, Global Hottie ran six furlongs in 1:09.04 and paid $3.40, $2.40 and $2.40 as the 7-10 favorite in her first start since Nov. 17.
Smoove It returned $4.60 and $3.60, while Moving Desert was another 1 1/4 lengths back in third and paid $3 to show.
Trained by Hall of Famer Bob Baffert, Global Hottie has two wins in three career starts and earnings of $64,200.
Apprentice jockey Drayden Van Dyke and Martin Pedroza each won two races on the card.
