GENEVA (AP) — Jerome Boateng scored in the 90th minute to give Bayern Munich a 1-0 victory over visiting Manchester City on Wednesday in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Boateng's powerful shot appeared to deflect off teammate Mario Goetze.

Also, Gerard Pique scored in Barcelona's 1-0 victory over APOEL, heading in Lionel Messi's free kick in the 28th minute.

Chelsea was held to a 1-1 home tie against Schalke.

On a bad night for eastern European champions, Roma routed CSKA Moscow 5-1, and Porto beat BATE Borisov 6-0. Elsewhere, it was: Ajax 1, Paris Saint-Germain 1; Maribor 1, Sporting Lisbon 1; and Athletic Bilbao 0, Shakhtar Donetsk 0.

CSKA faces further sanctions from UEFA after its fans threw flares, holding up play for two minutes in the second half at the Olympic Stadium. It must already host Bayern next in an empty stadium because of fans' racist behavior last season.
