FRESNO, Calif. (AP) — Fresno State's 0-3 start has reached another low point: the team is holding open tryouts for a new kicker.
The Bulldogs announced on their athletics' website that they are searching for students with kicking experience. Fresno State says any students who meet that criteria can attend a meeting with the coaching staff Thursday morning.
Starting kicker Colin McGuire left the team earlier this month due to undisclosed personal reasons. Freshman walk-on Kody Kroening has made one of two field goals in McGuire's absence, and punter Garrett Swanson is the only other kicker on the roster.
The Bulldogs host Southern Utah on Saturday.
