ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) — Detroit put cornerback Nevin Lawson on injured reserve after he went down with dislocated toes Sunday in the Lions' loss to Carolina.
Lawson immediately had surgery, and coach Jim Caldwell said Monday he did not expect the defensive back to return this season. Now Lawson is officially on IR.
The Lions also signed cornerback Danny Gorrer, promoted linebacker Julian Stanford from the practice squad and signed linebacker Jerrell Harris to the practice squad.
Detroit (1-1) had to put cornerback Bill Bentley and tackle Corey Hilliard on injured reserve after the season opener against the New York Giants.
