FARGO, N.D. (AP) — Carson Wentz passed for 237 yards and three touchdowns, and John Crockett rushed for two more as North Dakota State extended its winning streak to 27 games with a 58-0 blanking of Incarnate Word on Saturday.
The Bison (3-0) are three-time defending FCS champs and put on a show for ESPN's Game Day, which traveled to Fargo.
North Dakota State allowed Incarnate Word (0-3) a yard on the game-opening drive, returned the punt 47 yards and, two plays later Wentz connected with Jeff Illes from the 11.
Wentz hit RJ Urzendowski for a 60-yard score. The Bison scored on all four possessions in the third quarter with Crockett and Chase Morlock wrapping rushing touchdowns around an Incarnate Word fumble in the first 5 minutes.
UIW, in its second season of Division-I football, was making its first road trip north of Arkansas. The Cardinals were held to 150 yards of offense.
