NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — Josh Woodrum threw for 208 yards and one touchdown and ran for another score to lead Liberty to a 17-0 win over Norfolk State on Saturday.

Darrin Peterson, who now has 1,050 career receiving yards, was Woodrum's primary target with four receptions for 69 yards.

Liberty (1-1) was limited to just 72 yards rushing, while Norfolk State (0-2) had 159 yards rushing, but totaled just 56 passing yards.

The Spartans drove to Liberty's 18 in the first quarter but were stopped when Jacob Hagen forced a fumble that was recovered by Tyrin Holloway. Norfolk State never got past Liberty's 40 for the rest of the game.
