COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) — The game between No. 9 Texas A&M and Lamar has started after a lightning delay of 2 hours, 5 minutes.
The players ran onto the field for the start of the game before almost immediately running back into the locker rooms. An announcement was made that there was lightning within eight miles of the stadium and the game would be delayed.
Texas A&M officials said there were 188 lightning strikes within eight miles of the stadium during the delay.
