(KSL News) Tonight was historic for Utah's Native Americans, as they unveiled the Utah Native American Chamber of Commerce.
Organizers hope the chamber will help the Native American business community on and off the reservations.
Cal Nez, with the new Utah Native American Chamber of Commerce, said, "This is the time for the Native Americans to be able to strengthen their wings and to fly, the time to be able to find our entrepreneurial spirits so that we are self-efficient and self-reliant."
Governor Jon Huntsman, Jr. addressed the group via video. Salt Lake County Mayor Peter Corroon and Salt Lake City Mayor Ralph Becker also spoke to the group, but a Golden Eagle stole the show.
The Native American Chamber of Commerce is reaching out to State, City and Tribal government leaders as well as corporate America for help.
