OGDEN — A man accused of causing an accident that seriously injured three people while driving reckless and drunk during a domestic dispute has been released from the hospital and booked into jail.
Nicklaus Lee Valdez, 32, was arrested Friday for investigation of kidnapping, reckless endangerment, DUI, aggravated robbery and driving on a suspended license.
On Tuesday, Ogden police say Valdez got into an argument with his ex-girlfriend and forced her into her own vehicle while he drove. Valdez drove off at an extremely high rate of speed in a residential area and disregarded all traffic signs and rules, according to police
At 24th Street and Jackson Avenue, Valdez collided with another vehicle. Valdez, his ex-girlfriend and the driver of the other vehicle all suffered serious injuries and were taken to the hospital.
The driver of the other vehicle was recently released from the hospital but is still in serious condition, said Ogden Police Lt. Danielle Croyle. The ex-girlfriend remained in the hospital Friday.
