FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — A member of the New York Jets' practice squad was arrested this week after being accused of fighting at a New Jersey hotel near the team's practice facility.

Florham Park police say Quincy Enunwa was charged Sunday with simple assault and later released on his own recognizance after "an altercation with an individual." He was scheduled for a court appearance Wednesday but it wasn't clear if the hearing was held.

The 22-year-old rookie wide receiver declined comment when questioned Wednesday at practice, saying it was a "pending legal matter." The Jets picked Enunwa in the sixth round of the draft. Enunwa had 12 touchdowns for Nebraska last season and was the Gator Bowl MVP.

Authorities didn't say what sparked the alleged altercation or say who else was involved.
