Obama talks with Baltic leaders...NATO members also to talk Afghanistan post-2014

TALLINN, Estonia (AP) — President Barack Obama is in Estonia, meeting with the country's president. Obama is in the Baltics, showing solidarity with NATO allies who fear that they'll be the next target of Russia's aggression. After Obama meets with Estonian President Toomas Ilves (TAH'-muhs IHL'-vehs), he'll attend broader security talks that include the leaders of Latvia and Lithuania.

MOSCOW (AP) — A spokesman for Russian President Vladimir Putin says Putin and Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko have found that they "largely share views" on ways out of the Ukraine crisis. The two presidents met last week for talks which mainly highlighted their vastly conflicting views. But a Putin spokesman says they recently had a conversation about a peace settlement for eastern Ukraine. Ukraine and the West have accused Russia of sending its troops and weapons to support pro-Russian insurgents.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama and other NATO countries will be discussing this week which countries will contribute troops to the post-2014 mission in Afghanistan. The combat mission ends in 17 weeks, and countries such as Singapore and Slovenia, Mongolia and Malaysia have been packing up, leaving behind an ever-shrinking NATO coalition. There are about 30,700 U.S. forces still in Afghanistan, and President Barack Obama has said he wants to keep 9,800 American troops there. There are about 14,400 non-American troops in Afghanistan.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Police in Kansas City, Missouri are looking for a suspect following a shooting that left three people dead and two others critically wounded. Police say all five victims were found in three separate locations Tuesday, but all in the same neighborhood. The dead are a man and two women.

NEW YORK (AP) — A teenager who sneaked to the top of New York City's 1 World Trade Center tower is expected to be sentenced to community service when he appears in court today in Manhattan. Justin Casquejo (kahs-KAY'-hoh) pleaded guilty in July to breaking a city misdemeanor law against scaling tall buildings without permission. The 16-year-old from Weehawken, New Jersey was promised a sentence of 23 days of community service. The March 16 episode prompted security changes at the building.
