LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) — The Chicago Bears waived long snapper Brandon Hartson on Sunday.
Hartson beat out former CFL player Chad Rempel in a preseason competition to replace the retired Patrick Mannelly, who played more years (16) and more games (245) with the Bears than any other player. Rempel was waived Aug. 18.
The Bears host Buffalo in the regular-season opener on Sept. 7.
