CHICAGO (AP) — The Detroit Tigers withheld slugger Miguel Cabrera from the lineup for Sunday's game against the Chicago White Sox because of a sore right ankle.

Manager Brad Ausmus says he is day to day.

The AL MVP the past two years, Cabrera left in the fourth inning of the second game of Saturday's day-night doubleheader after struggling to run out a grounder. He pulled up after being thrown out at first and was replaced in the bottom half of the inning.
