SEATTLE (AP) — Jesus Montero will not play baseball again this season for the Seattle Mariners' organization after a heated confrontation in the stands with a team scout during a minor league game Thursday night in Boise, Idaho. The argument came during a Single-A game between the Boise Hawks and Seattle's affiliate, the Everett AquaSox.
FONTANA, Calif. (AP) — Will Power has struggled in qualifying for the final race of the IndyCar season, leaving the series leader starting in 21st place when he chases his first championship. Power had the second-worst performance in qualifying, while Team Penske teammate Helio Castroneves (EHL'-ee-oh kas-troh-NEH'-vehz) won the pole. Castroneves turned a lap with an average speed of 218.540 mph.
FONTANA, Calif. (AP) — The Grand Prix of Houston has been dropped from the IndyCar schedule for 2015. Mark Miles, the president of IndyCar, says scheduling conflicts prompted the change. Houston's departure from the IndyCar schedule likely opens a June date for a race in Toronto.
