CINCINNATI (AP) — The Reds have recalled right-hander Dylan Axelrod to start against the Cubs on Thursday.

Axelrod was obtained from the Chicago White Sox for cash on July 16. He started Aug. 17 against the Rockies and was optioned back to Triple-A Louisville the next day. Axelrod left the game with a lead but a blown save gave him a no-decision.

The Reds optioned right-hander Daniel Corcino to Louisville.

Corcino was recalled by the Reds on August 22 and made his big league debut on Tuesday, his 24th birthday. Corcino pitched a hitless inning, striking out two.
