RIVERSIDE, Calif. (AP) — A man killed in a car-to-car shooting on a Riverside County freeway has been identified as an athlete at Chaffey College.
The school's president, Dr. Henry Shannon, says the victim was Sheldon Martin, a wide receiver for the Chaffey football team.
The Riverside Press-Enterprise reports (http://bit.ly/1pW6Jb1) grief counselors will be on the campus in Rancho Cucamonga on Monday.
Martin was shot to death and two others were wounded late Saturday as they drove on State Route 60 in the Rubidoux area.
The car's driver told investigators that his friends got into some sort of verbal dispute with another group at a drive-in restaurant, and were followed onto the freeway by people in a dark-colored car.
Authorities are searching for suspects.
The conditions of the other two victims were not available.
