FERGUSON, Mo. (AP) — Calling the violence a disservice to the victim and his family, Missouri's governor is sending the National Guard to Ferguson to help restore order after the shooting of an unarmed black teen by a white police officer. Police used tear gas to clear protesters off the streets well ahead of a curfew last night.

CAIRO (AP) — With the latest cease-fire about to expire today, Israeli and Palestinian negotiators in Egypt are holding fast to their bargaining positions. Both sides still appear reluctant to return to the deadly all-out fighting that has destroyed large parts of the densely-populated coastal strip. The Israel-Hamas war has killed more than 1,900 Palestinians, mostly civilians. Israel has lost 67 people, all but three of them soldiers.

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — Six people, including five medics, are being held in medical isolation in United Arab Emirates pending results of tests for Ebola. The medics treated a woman who became ill at Abu Dhabi's airport and later died. The sixth person is the woman's husband. The couple was traveling from Nigeria to India where the woman was scheduled for cancer treatment.

MATARAM, Indonesia (AP) — Officials say a Dutch man and an Italian woman are still missing today from a tourist boat that sank after hitting a reef in central Indonesia. The boat sank Saturday evening while carrying 20 foreign tourists, four Indonesian crewmen and an Indonesian guide. Eighteen tourists and all five Indonesians were rescued yesterday and today.

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — The San Francisco 49ers' are expressing condolences to the family of a man who died during the team's first game at the new Levi's Stadium. Stadium staff responded to a cardiac emergency during the third quarter. The man was pronounced dead at a hospital. The team's 34-0 loss to Denver and 80-degree heat drove thousands of fans to leave the new stadium early. The victim was sitting in a sunbaked section.
