FERGUSON, Mo. (AP) — Missouri State Highway Patrol Capt. Ron Johnson, who is in charge of security in Ferguson, says 40 FBI agents are going door-to-door in the neighborhood where a black teenager was shot to death by a white police officer a week ago. Johnson says the agents are talking to people who might have seen or have information about the shooting.

Jay Nixon says the state will not allow a handful of looters to endanger the community. There was more rioting in Ferguson last night. Nixon says there must be calm if justice is to be served.
DENVER (AP) — Lawsuits can move forward against the owner of the Colorado movie theater where a gunman killed 12 people and injured 70 others in 2012. The Denver Post reports that a federal judge ruled Friday that Cinemark could have predicted moviegoers in Aurora might be targeted for an attack, noting "the grim history" of mass killings in recent times.
AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Texas Gov. Rick Perry says is calling the indictment against him outrageous and an abuse of power. A grand jury on Friday indicted the Republican on two felony counts of abuse of power for making good on a veto threat. The possible 2016 presidential hopeful is dismissing the charges as nakedly political. Perry is the first Texas governor since 1917 to be indicted.
SAN ANTONIO (AP) — A general investigating the disappearance of a U.S. Army sergeant in Afghanistan is getting several more weeks to complete his probe. Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl was held as a prisoner of war in Afghanistan for five years. His exchange for five Taliban leaders has generated criticism due to allegations he was a deserter. Bergdahl is stationed at Fort Sam Houston in Texas.
