Ukraine has expressed fears that Russia could use the aid shipment as cover for a military incursion in support of eastern separatists. The two sides are talking about Red Cross inspections of the convoy.
BALI, Indonesia (AP) — Indonesian police say evidence and witness statements have led to murder charges against a young American couple in the death of the young woman's mother, who was found stuffed in a suitcase on the resort island of Bali. Nineteen-year-old Heather Mack and her 21-year-old boyfriend Tommy Schaefer were arrested Wednesday, a day after the body of 62-year-old Sheila von Wiese-Mack was found.
NEW DELHI (AP) — Speaking to mark India's independence from colonial rule, Prime Minister Narendra Modi (nah-REN'-drah MOH'-dee) says the country has cause for shame after a spate of rapes and attacks against women. He's calling on parents in the deeply misogynistic country to treat their sons and daughters equally. Addressing a growing anger in India, Modi says parents must teach their sons how to treat women with respect.
