LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — The University of Kentucky is showing off one of its newest residence halls.

The school is inviting the public to tour the Champions Court 1 residence hall on Thursday. Tours are available from 3 to 6 p.m. EDT.

The facility is one of five new residence halls with a total of 2,381 beds opening for the upcoming fall semester on the Lexington campus.

UK has constructed 5,733 new residence hall beds since 2013 in a public-private partnership.

The state's flagship university is looking at the potential of building up to 9,000 new residence hall beds over the next five to seven years to transform living and learning space on campus.
