SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Three-time Olympic champion Kerri Walsh Jennings broke yet another beach volleyball record Sunday, passing long-time partner Misty May-Treanor with her 70th women's U.S. tournament victory.

Walsh Jennings and April Ross won the AVP Salt Lake City Open with a 21-16, 21-15 victory over Lauren Fendrick and Brooke Sweat. It was their third win in three AVP events this year, and Walsh Jennings's 120th victory worldwide — also a women's record.

In the men's final, local favorites Jake Gibb and Casey Patterson beat Nick Lucena and Ryan Doherty 17-21, 21-17, 17-15. Gibb is from Bountiful and played at the University of Utah, and Patterson played at BYU.
