LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Rory McIlroy takes a one-shot lead over Jason Day and Jim Furyk (FYOOR'-ihk) into the third round of the PGA Championship today. McIlroy is looking to run his winning streak to three straight tournaments. Rickie Fowler and Ryan Palmer start the day two back and Phil Mickelson is in a group three off the lead.

BELMONT, Mich. (AP) — Inbee Park takes a one-shot lead into today's third round of the Meijer (MAY'-ur) LPGA Classic. The South Korean is looking for her second win of the year, after posting six victories last year. Norway's Suzann Pettersen starts the day one shot off the pace.

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (AP) — It's back to road course racing for the Sprint Cup drivers who are set for qualifying at Watkins Glen today. Points leader Jeff Gordon has proved his skill on road courses with a record nine wins, including four at the Glen.

TORONTO (AP) — Detroit's Max Scherzer takes a second try at becoming the American League's first 14-game winner when he gets the starts for Detroit at Toronto. Scherzer is 13-4 and is coming off his first loss since June 17, a stretch of eight starts.

MONTREAL (AP) — Defending champ Serena Williams takes on older sister Venus in the semifinals of the Rogers Cup. It's the 26th meeting between the siblings with Serena holding a 15-10 edge, including wins in their last five meetings.
