(KSL News) The family of a man who committed suicide in jail is suing Salt Lake County.
The Provo Daily Herald reports the suit claims jail officials didn't do more to prevent Arthur Henderson's death, therefore violating his rights to life, liberty and freedom from conduct that constitutes cruel and unusual punishment.
Henderson was being held at the jail on attempted murder charges when he used bed sheets to hang himself.
The suit also claims Henderson indicated to guards and other officials he was having suicidal thoughts.
