Mosquitoes found with West Nile virus in Stratford

STRATFORD, Conn. (AP) — Public health officials say mosquitoes trapped in Stratford have tested positive for West Nile Virus.

The mosquitoes were trapped July 24 and the results were announced on Tuesday.

Officials advise residents to keep windows and door screens closed tightly and get rid of standing water in anything that collets water such as flower pots, bird baths, trash cans and lids.

Symptoms of West Nile virus include fever, headaches, body aches, nausea, vomiting and skin rashes.
