ABUJA, Nigeria (AP) — Doctors in Nigeria say more people who treated a Liberian-American man who died of Ebola in July may also have become infected. PHOENIX (AP) — Jodi Arias, the woman convicted of the gruesome 2008 killing of her boyfriend, will be allowed to represent herself in the second penalty phase of her case, which begins in about four weeks. Arias was convicted last year of killing boyfriend Travis Alexander, stabbing him nearly 30 times, slitting his throat and shooting him in the forehead. But the jury wasn't able to reach a decision on whether she should be given the death penalty.

Officials say state child welfare workers have removed two other children from the Wright home.

MIAMI (AP) — Forecasters say Hurricane Bertha is expected to weaken Tuesday and poses no direct threat to the U.S. East Coast. The National Hurricane Center in Miami says the storm is expected to stay offshore as it passes wide of the U.S. mainland over the next few days. It's also expected to miss Bermuda. On Sunday, Bertha brought rain and gusty winds to the Bahamas, Turks & Caicos, the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico.
