SEATTLE (AP) — Shaq Thompson knows the question is coming. It's asked any time his role with Washington is discussed.

Is Thompson about to become the next two-way player in the Pac-12 Conference?

The question became a point of discussion during the spring when new Washington coach Chris Petersen used Thompson occasionally at running back. Part of it was out of need due to injuries. Part of it was because Thompson's unique size and speed as a linebacker make him a scary proposition as a running back.

Thompson made clear he's a linebacker as Washington opened fall camp on Monday. He came to Washington to be a linebacker but if Thompson is asked to get a few carries, he's not going to turn down that chance.
