ST. GEORGE, Utah (AP) — Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy says the April confrontation between the federal government and his family and armed militia supporters was part of an age-old spiritual battle between good and evil. Bundy, a Mormon, told an Independent American Party gathering in St. George, Utah, on Saturday that God provided him personal inspiration in the showdown over cattle.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — The Idaho Supreme Court has rejected a request for a waiver by Concordia University School of Law to allow its first graduating class of students to take the bar exam. The Idaho Statesman reports that the court cited the school's lack of provisional accreditation from the American Bar Association. The decision means the 45 students won't be allowed to take the bar exam after finishing school next summer.

LEWISTON, Idaho (AP) — A logging project in the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forest is back on following a court ruling. The Lewiston Tribune reports that a federal appeals court last week refused to halt the Little Slate Project. But the court also directed the case be scheduled on the court calendar at the first available date. Moscow-based environmental group Friends of the Clearwater appealed a lower court's ruling denying an injunction to halt logging.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Idaho Republicans have concluded months of political infighting over who should control the party and have elected Steve Yates to be the new leader of the state's GOP. The state's central committee met Saturday in Boise to elect new party officers. Yates is an Idaho Falls businessman and former aide to former U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney.
