BERLIN (AP) — A boat carrying gravel capsized on the busy Rhine river in the Swiss city of Basel on Monday and then collided with two passenger ships, authorities said. No one was injured.

It wasn't immediately clear what caused Monday morning's accident.

The vessel first collided with a river cruiser that was sailing along the Rhine with about 50 passengers on board, and then with a second cruise ship that was tied up to the quay with some 100 passengers aboard, said Andreas Knuchel, a spokesman for Basel's justice and security department.

The passenger ship that was underway at the time of the accident was able to reach the river bank without difficulty for those on board to disembark. Officials in Basel, which is on Switzerland's border with Germany and France, were examining the two river cruisers for any damage.
