(KSL News) A Springville man who's in the Utah County Jail waiting to be sentenced on his seventh drunken driving conviction is trying to bail himself out of jail.
A Salt Lake bail bonds company confirmed that the family of Robert Van Dyke approached them about helping Van Dyke meet the $100,000 cash bail.
Those efforts may prove to be premature, though. The Utah County Prosecutor's Office filed a motion this afternoon to block Van Dyke's attempt to bail out of the county jail.
A hearing on the matter is set for a week from today.
