HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — Students at Pennsylvania's 14 state-owned universities will see tuition increase by about 3 percent in the coming school year.
The board of the State System of Higher Education on Tuesday voted to boost tuition by $99 a semester, to $3,410.
That's the cost for full-time students who are Pennsylvania residents, a group that includes the vast majority of the system's 112,000 students.
The system is currently experimenting at some schools with flexible pricing plans and will evaluate their effectiveness after two years.
The board also voted to extend the contracts of 10 university presidents for three more years.
At the four other schools, the presidents are currently serving on an acting or interim basis.
