ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — The 174-year-old president's house at the University of Michigan is getting $1.7 million in renovations.
The Ann Arbor News and the Detroit Free Press report work on the oldest building at the Ann Arbor school's campus started earlier this year after outgoing President Mary Sue Coleman moved out. The last major work to the house took place before she arrived 12 years ago.
Incoming President Mark Schlissel, who officially takes over as president July 14, is expected to move into the home later.
A formal inauguration for Schlissel is Sept. 5 at the end of the first week of classes for the fall semester. Events start with symposia on biomedical research and privacy at Blau Auditorium and end with a community welcome reception on Ingalls Mall.
