Actress and singer OLIVIA NEWTON-JOHN has been honoured by QUEEN ELIZABETH II for her lifelong services to the entertainment industry.
The British-born Australian actress and singer, 57, was appointed an Officer in the Order of Australia on Monday (12JUN06).
The GREASE star's appointment is in recognition of her work as an actress and singer, her unrelenting support of breast cancer charities since she successfully battled the disease 14 years ago, and her efforts as goodwill ambassador to the United Nations (UN) Environment program.
Newton-John was among 817 Australians to be appointed on the Queen's birthday honours list. (MP/WNWCAG/ES)
