SANDY — Police teamed up with firefighters, animal control officers and a veterinarian to respond to a crash on I-15.
A horse trailer got loose from the vehicle pulling it and rolled on its side on I-15 at 10600 South Wednesday evening, trapping the horse inside.
Police said the horse had minor injuries, but they didn't want to make them worse. So, officers called in a veterinarian to tranquilize the animal.
The firefighters were able to get a harness around the horse and pull it out. They loaded it into an animal control trailer to get it home.
