CHICAGO (AP) — Cincinnati Reds left-handed reliever Sean Marshall had season-ending shoulder surgery on Tuesday.
Marshall has been dealing with shoulder problems for the last two years. He had no record and a 7.71 ERA in 15 appearances this season.
Manager Bryan Price says he was told the surgery went very well.
The 31-year-old Marshall is 5-6 with a 3.27 ERA and nine saves in 104 games over three seasons since he was acquired in a trade with the Chicago Cubs in December 2011.
