JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Officials of the Jackson Zoo say a 37-year-old white handed Gibbon has died.

Zoo officials tell WAPT-TV (http://bit.ly/1jLlacC ) that Cookie Man died about two weeks ago from heart disease.

He is the father of Jari, who was born at the zoo seven months ago.

Zoo officials say Cookie Man got his name because he was fond of clutching a stuffed Cookie Monster, the character made famous on the "Sesame Street" children's television show.
