FAIRBANKS, Alaska (AP) — Additional charges have been filed against a public school tutor and correspondence school teacher previously charged with sexual abuse of a student.
The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner (http://bit.ly/1v1OwJ7) reports 34-year-old Claude Fowlkes is charged with abusing a second teenager.
A grand jury Friday indicted Fowlkes on three felony counts.
Fowlkes has been jailed since March. The Hutchison High School tutor and correspondence teacher was previously charged with six counts of sexual abuse of a minor. He has denied the charges.
Prosecutors say the new charges stem from incidents in September and October 2010.
Fowlkes in 2010 worked at Tanana Middle School in Fairbanks. Charging documents in the new case do not indicate whether the second possible victim was a student.
