ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Orlando City Soccer Club says it is in advanced discussions to sign AC Milan midfielder Kaka.
Orlando's new Major League Soccer franchise released the brief statement on Friday, adding that pending the completion of a player agreement the 32-year-old Kaka would join Orlando City SC in January 2015 prior to its first MLS season.
The club's statement came a day after an ESPN Brasil report in which Sao Paulo president Carlos Miguel Aidar said he was almost certain Kaka would return to the Brazilian club on loan this summer before jumping to MLS next year.
Orlando City said it would have no further comment on Kaka.
Kaka has 87 international appearances for Brazil and is in second stint with Milan. He's also previously played for Real Madrid and Sao Paulo.
