LAS VEGAS (AP) — The man who led Las Vegas' main marketing organization through a banner tourism year is likely to get an 8 percent raise and a 50 percent bonus.
The recommendation came Thursday from the compensation committee of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority. It would raise the annual salary of authority president Rossi Ralenkotter to nearly $320,000. The bonus would amount to an additional $148,000.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports (http://bit.ly/1pQhfmi ) that if the raise is approved, it will be the largest ever granted by the board.
Committee members praised Ralenkotter for helping push visitation to nearly 40 million last year, and applauded his role in securing a 10-year contract to keep the lucrative National Finals Rodeo in town.
The proposal will be considered by the full board July 8.
