LAS VEGAS (AP) — One hundred children are expected to meet up at the Wet'N'Wild waterpark in Las Vegas to join in what may be the world's largest swimming lesson.
Participants in Las Vegas are joining thousands of other children and adults at pools across the globe on Friday morning for a simultaneous, 30-minute swim class.
They're trying to break the current Guinness World Record, which stands at 32,450 participants representing 13 different countries across five continents.
It's the fifth year organizers have tried to set the record. The event aims to highlight the importance of water safety and learning how to swim.
Wet'N'Wild officials say they're members of the Southern Nevada Drowning Prevention Coalition and want to ensure all visitors have a safe experience at their park.
