HELENA, Mont. (AP) — Former University of Montana law school dean Edwin Eck has been named head of the attorney general's office of consumer protection.
The office investigates complaints from people who believe they were deceived or treated unfairly by businesses.
Attorney General Tim Fox on Wednesday named Eck as the permanent replacement to Jim Molloy, who took a position with Gov. Steve Bullock's administration in 2013.
The office has since been run by acting chief Matt Dale.
Eck was a law professor for 32 years. Most recently, he was the interim trustee who headed a search committee for the board of the newly formed Montana Healthcare Foundation.
