LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities are searching for a Henderson woman who was last seen hiking in Lake Mead National Recreation Area with a man who was found dead last week. Family and friends of 35-year-old Christina Montes told rangers on Friday she was planning to camp with 62-year-old James Johnson Jr. Johnson's body was found on June 5 near the Colorado River close to Arizona Hot Spring.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Jim Rogers, a philanthropist and education advocate who served for free as chancellor of Nevada's higher education system from 2005 to 2009, died Saturday after a bout with cancer at the age of 75. Rogers, in a 2007 interview, said he was worth about $300 million and had donated or pledged an estimated $275 million to universities, including $60 million to Nevada universities.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Two former University of Nevada, Las Vegas, employees have been arrested on suspicion of using university credit cards to buy items such as iPods, cameras and electronic accessories for themselves. Lina Khachekian and Marisa Neuhaus are accused of defrauding UNLV out of more than $292,000 between November 2011 and March 2013.

RENO, Nev. (AP) — A 51-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in connection with an accident that killed a bicyclist in the Reno area. Washoe County sheriff's deputies say Jesse Todd II of Sun Valley was driving on Seneca Drive west of Virginia Street on Friday night when he crossed to the wrong side of the road and struck a 16-year-old male bicyclist.
