2 officers, 3 others dead in Las Vegas shooting
Two suspects shot and killed two police officers in an ambush at a Las Vegas restaurant Sunday before fatally shooting a third person and killing themselves inside a nearby Walmart, authorities said.
“This is a revolution,” one of the suspects yelled. However, authorities are still unclear as to any motive that led a man and woman to shoot two officers, a bystander and then themselves in an apparent suicide pact.
Clark County Assistant Sheriff Kevin McMahill called the investigation “very complex” because it involves more than 1,000 witnesses.
Woman dies in 100-foot fall at Donut Falls
A woman died after falling while hiking near Donut Falls in Big Cottonwood Canyon Saturday.
Police say 40-year-old Ana Maria Raya was hiking with family members when she slipped and fell about 100 feet. Unified police detective Ken Hansen said an increase of water due to run off made the trail more slippery.
The trail was closed while crews recovered the body, but it was reopened by 7 p.m., Hansen said.
6 Utahns ride motorcycles across lower 48 in 10 days
Six Utahns became part of an elite group after riding motorcycles through 48 states in 10 days.
The group left from St. George, Utah, May 12 and rode 1,164 miles in the first day to complete a mini challenge known as the "SaddleSore 1,000." The group rode for 20 hours in the first day and 21 hours on the second day.
"We traveled 7,600 miles on the (48/10) trip," one of them said. "By the starting point and when we got home, we rode 8,600 miles total. We did 220 gallons of gas. And it cost about $900 in gas. We traveled 7,600 miles in 10 days — my behind knows that."

Mormons Building Bridges was the largest group to march in the parade. The two-hour event featured 143 entries and between 7,000 and 9,000 participants.
Flaming Gorge dam water releases at capacity, causes flooding
The Bureau of Reclamation opened bypass tubes at Flaming Gorge Dam on Friday, catching some weekend boaters by surprise.
The increased outflow caused minor flooding to rural areas downstream. Sections of the Little Hole National Scenic Trail, commonly used by anglers on the riverside, are currently under water. The U.S. Forest Service closed the trail between the Spillway Road and Little Hole on June 5.
The Bureau's website said the elevated "releases will remain at bypass capacity until further notice."
