COTTONWOOD, Idaho (AP) — Authorities are searching for two inmates who escaped from the North Idaho Correctional Institution in Cottonwood.

The Idaho Department of Correction says 23-year-old Tyler Dean Davis and 23-year-old Dylan James Ames fled late Wednesday morning while unloading a delivery truck.

Ames is described as a white male who is 6 feet tall, weighs 175 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes.

Davis is a 5-foot-9 white male who weighs 200 pounds and has brown hair and green eyes.

The North Idaho Correctional Institution primarily houses offenders under a retained jurisdiction sentence.

That's a sentencing alternative for offenders who might be viable candidates for probation rather than incarceration.
