LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities say the SLS Las Vegas hotel-casino will open in late August as part of a new chain of independently operated Hilton Worldwide hotels.
A Monday announcement puts the $415 million hotel on the Las Vegas Strip in Hilton's Curio brand.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports (http://bit.ly/1p27YVb ) that other hotels in the collection are The Sam Houston Hotel in Houston; Hotel Alex Johnson in Rapid City, S.D.; The Franklin Hotel in Chapel Hill, N.C.; and an as-yet unnamed hotel development in downtown Portland, Ore.
The deal allows Hilton HHonors members to earn points at the participating hotels.
SLS is the renovated Sahara.
The hotel-casino will have 1,620 rooms and suites.
