CONWAY, Ark. (AP) — The University of Central Arkansas' Board of Trustees has approved a three percent increase in tuition for graduate and undergraduate students.

The board approved the increases during a meeting Friday at UCA in Conway.

The increase raises graduate student tuition from $235.96 per credit hour to $243.04. Undergraduate tuition rises from $191.50 per hour to $197.25.

The increase is projected to generate an additional $1.6 million in revenue based on last year's enrollment. UCA officials say the increase will be used to help provide a 2 percent salary increase for faculty and staff.

Trustees also voted to raise the Student Activities Board fee from $1.06 per credit hour to $1.59 per credit hour. The fee is used to provide funding for speakers, entertainers and social activities for the student body.
