RENO, Nev. (AP) — A man on a moped has been killed and a pickup truck driver arrested after a collision in northwest Reno.

Police say 21-year-old Ericka Casino Vera of Reno was booked early Tuesday on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs causing death.

Sgt. Brian Adamson says a preliminary investigation indicates the 24-year-old Reno man was traveling westbound on Mae Anne about 1:40 a.m. when he failed to stop for a red light at the intersection with McCarron. That's when Vera is accused of running into him in a Dodge pickup.

Police say she was cooperative during the investigation but subsequently arrested.

The victim later died from his injuries at a Reno hospital. His name is being withheld pending notification of family.

The intersection was shut down for several hours.
